The mission
Holden Care is a project on ethical radio holography in home palliative care. A breakthrough technology that will make life easier for seriously ill patients and their families. A research team from IRLaB at the Institute of Philosophy of the Czech Academy of Sciences is currently testing an ethically acceptable way of using this technology, in collaboration with the Palliative Care team of the University Hospital Královské Vinohrady. This type of technology allows to monitor the performance of patients in their home in a private way. Based on the test results, scientists will modify the design of the technology so that it benefits individuals in an ethically acceptable manner and can be used in broader healthcare contexts. The knowledge gained from testing the technology in the Czech Republic will be used to develop autonomy-promoting and privacy-preserving radio holographic technologies in healthcare in Europe and elsewhere in the world.
